House prices have recovered to their level prior to the collapse of Lehman Brothers a year ago.
The average UK home is now valued at £161,816 up 0.9 per cent on last month and 3.8 per cent over the quarter. The average London property is worth £268,847, against £263,739 in September 2008, the month in which Lehman Brothers collapsed.
